Storytelling with Entertaining Facts

Challenge: For mobilcom-debitel, we were tasked with expanding the PR toolkit beyond pure product PR. Our idea: analyze anonymized data from seven million users and generate entertaining stories from it. This would allow mobilcom-debitel to make compelling statements about smartphone usage in Germany and build a market-leading image.

Solution: We convinced mobilcom-debitel of the value of data-based storytelling and implemented the processes together with the data mining and compliance departments. For more than two years, we then shaped the media landscape with colorful stories—completely independent of product news. Where is the German iPhone capital? From which countries do Bavarians roam the most on vacation? When do Germans first use their smartphones in the morning?

Result:
