IPRN Award 2025 for Reputation / Crisis Communication

Our communications work for Start Somewhere is internationally recognised

At this year’s meeting of the international PR network IPRN in Porto we celebrated a very special success: Our work for our client Start Somewhere was honoured with the IPRN Award 2025 in the category Reputation / Crisis Communication. This award recognises our strategic communications work and our sustained commitment to improving living conditions in Kenya.

Start Somewhere is committed to improving living conditions in informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya. With innovative Twist Blocks – modular, mortar-free building blocks that work like Lego – the project enables the sustainable and rapid construction of homes and schools in areas with acute need. Production takes place locally, creates jobs and promotes the transfer of knowledge within the community. Start Somewhere’s long-term goal is to grow from a non-profit initiative into a social business.

Since 2018, we have been supporting Start Somewhere pro bono and have continuously developed the communications strategy in close collaboration with Start Somewhere’s Kenyan and German team. By developing content and social media strategies as well as implementing fundraising campaigns, we have been able to steadily increase the project’s visibility. Our targeted media relations, as well as storytelling on LinkedIn and Instagram, have helped to win supporters and create lasting attention for the organisation.

Winning the IPRN Award 2025 is a wonderful recognition for our team and our client Start Somewhere. It shows how effective crisis communication and strategic PR work can bring about sustainable change.
