Subtenant wanted

Office desks with human contact included

On the advantages of having a desk at TDUB in Hafencity

How do we want to work in future? After the long period of working from home and video conferences, many people are thinking about it. On the one hand, we’ve learned that we no longer have to commute back and forth all the time, just to sit together day in, day out, lined up like hens on a perch in huge offices. A bit of family life, relaxation and country air does you good and also supports productivity. Professional exchange can be handled just as well digitally. On the other hand, we miss the human side: the small talk by the coffee machine, the sense of belonging in the team, the invigorating exchange with all the senses, the personal and creative interaction. After all, we’re all social beings.

Our idea of a “shared office”.

What do we learn from this? How will the world of work change? Here at TDUB, we are convinced that our model has a great future: a smart combination of mobile office and direct collaboration in an open and inspiring office environment. We have rented an entire floor in an old warehouse in HafenCity, which we share with various subtenants. The different teams each have their own areas here, but there are also open spaces that invite dialogue. Everything is transparent with lots of glass, airy and bright, but not overdone, so you can feel comfortable. We aim for a balanced relationship between concentrating on the business and creative social phases that give you the feeling of having found a second home here. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that we all feel a bit like friends on the 5th floor of the “HKS7” (HongKongStraße 7).

Subtenant wanted – or rather: people.

TDUB rents out one to eight desk spaces to creative teams and people who don’t necessarily want to see themselves as “lone wolves”. We do it on the side and out of conviction – we are not just another branch of a sterile office-space rental chain. We simply have plenty of space for nice people.

Larger teams who have realised that, thanks to working from home, they may no longer need as much office space can, for example, rent a four-desk island in a separate room in HKS7, which they can occupy flexibly with the people who want to meet in the office at any given time. If more people do get together, there is still enough space for spontaneous solutions. We have a large conference room where everyone can come together, two small meeting rooms, plus further seating areas and, of course, the coffee machine in the kitchen where people meet. Around it all, there’s plenty of space for exciting HafenCity walks by the water, or numerous restaurants and cafés of almost every kind, right up to the food truck market and the cult ice-cream parlour. And perhaps we’ll soon even be able to bring our weekly cooking group back to life? And throw a big Christmas party together?

This is how things could continue after coronavirus.

When the state of emergency gives way to the new normal; when we can meet again without having forgotten the lessons of the Covid era: then the world of work will have changed too. Make the right decision now and create a modern, flexible working environment for you and your team—one that does not ignore basic human needs. Tanja Kitzmann, Managing Director at TDUB, will be happy to inform you about the current situation with us: how much space do we currently have for new subtenants? What’s it like on site? How much does it all cost? It would be great if we could welcome you to HKS7!
